NYAB awarded to "Sunderby Hospital, Village 124, new building of psychiatry"

The contract concerns the new construction of adult psychiatry at Sunderby Hospital. The building is on three levels, basement included and a total of about 12,000 square meters. The contract also includes external construction work and work in existing connecting rooms. The contract value amounts to approximately SEK 225 million.

The contract with the customer Region Norrbotten will be signed at the end of next month. The project will start in the spring of 2018 and will be completed in late summer 2020.

- We have prioritized this project, it fits perfectly into our order backlog and is an important platform for me in the continued development of the construction business area within the coastal region. The Norrbotten region is also a priority customer for NYAB, not least as we also have framework agreements for Kiruna and Gällivare. In addition, we have already been established at Sunderby Hospital since last autumn, where we are constructing a new cooling water pipeline with water reservoir etc. to the hospital, which is an ongoing construction project where both the construction and construction business areas are collaborating.

The feeling is good, my employees have done a very good job in the calculation work and it feels very fun to have the opportunity to together with the Norrbotten Region take the next step in starting production and start building, says Samuel Lundkvist, work manager NYAB.

- New construction projects are always interesting for me, this is one of the larger construction projects
procured in Luleå in recent years. This was a high priority from the business area construction management and it feels very good to have contributed with the calculation work from the start until we won the procurement, says Rickard Alm, contracting engineer NYAB.
