Piteå Port & Hub is gearing up for increased quality and capacity in its port operations on Haraholmen. The contract includes filling on land and in water for new terminal areas. Coating wear layer, shell protection around and lighting of the same. A total of just over 50,000 m².
NYAB's contract “Piteå Port & Hub stage 3” includes a total of more than 300,000 tonnes of moraine filling and rock, primarily for erosion protection. 13,500 tonnes of asphalt are also included in the contract, as well as electrical work for lighting. The project starts fairly immediately and is planned to be completed by 20201031.
- A very interesting and fun project, what mainly differs from traditional construction projects are the parts that go in connection with and in water. The logistical challenge where large volumes of rock are to be handled and transported also suits us well as it is taken from our own CE-certified quarrying operations. That is, we have control from ear to loaf, says Lasse Andersson, Construction Engineer at NYAB.
- This is a significant contract, both the volume of the contract but also to be involved in building and building something that in the long run promotes Piteå's industries and thus the local community. Now we have the given goal of exceeding the customer's and end users' expectations of the project and the end product, says Fredrik Karkiainen, Business Area Manager Plant NYAB.
- We have full confidence that NYAB will be a good party to the agreement and that we together safeguard the interests of all stakeholders and address this in a good way with a focus on cost efficiency, safety, quality and the environment, says Lars Wikström, Infrastructure Manager, Piteå Port & Hub.
