On behalf of Vattenfall, NYAB is carrying out dam safety measures for the intake dam in Bastusel. Bastusel supplies more than 100,000 households with electricity and belongs to consequence class I according to RIDAS, which is the power companies' guidelines for dam safety.

Fredrik Karkiainen, Business Area Manager Construction, is very pleased that NYAB has won Vattenfall's trust, and looks forward to nurturing the same. This contract is completely in line with NYAB's recently established 3-year plan to broaden its operations primarily with customers but also to work in a wider geography.

A start meeting will be held next week and production will begin in April.

For me personally, this type of dam project is nothing new and it will be interesting to participate in NYAB´'s first significant project for Vattenfall, concludes NYAB´'s project manager and contract engineer Lennart Wäppling.
